indeed, there's better suggestion how to attach the fo cable. What we did is not prof. at all as initially we use inon d2000 with G9, then i had use the inon d2000 for my other camera. The epoque is my back-up strobe.
The objective is just to ensure sufficient light from the internal flash travel to the sensor. Unfortunately, epoque sensor is not very sensitive like inon. So, the FO cable shall be attached facing directly to the flash by any practical means and covered with tape or any other mean from bright surrounding light. I use rubber bands just to keep the cable in place and remain facing the internal flash.
Set the camera and strobe in manual mode - no pre-flash. do not set the strobe in auto or high auto; these set is for pre-flash.
In most case, the mid. power of internal flash shall be sufficient to trigger the strobe but you can also set to max. the problem is, it will will consume more battery, heat dissipation, and more backscatter if not completely covered.

I just use waterproof medical tape to tape the FO end directly over the flash. It also works to diffuse any light from the internal flash to avoid a shadow. I've never had a problem getting mine to fire.

Sound like an easy attachment, do you just replace the tape every dive?

Thanks, that's very helpful. I didn't realize different strobes were more or less sensitive... hopefully I can get it working now!

My Inon D2000 strobes have been absolutely 100% perfect, every time, all the time. N
