canon for underwater ??

well it wasn't just the look of the thing, alought it's a pretty ugly camera, it looks big, which might well make the housing big, i don't have space in my kit bag for big, i have made a point of teying to trim down my scuba gear, as this far 99% of it has been over seas, if i was to come to the US it wouldn't be such an issue as luggage allowance to there is 2x34kg, where as if i was to fly to the red sea i'm only allowed 1x20kg, my scuba gear before i put it on a diet was 19.5kg's i have got it down to 16kg's, i have seen the sony p120 and it's housing and it's smaller than my p5, the weight difference would be minimal, but it is smaller, fact of the matter is that a larger housing would not fit into my pelicase
 
I did my Maldives pics with a Canon S30 (older version in the S series) with Canon housing and no external strobe and no external lenses. It was first time underwater with a camera so I did not want any complications. It was very compact and easy to use underwater. If I were to use it somewhere where the water is not so clear I would probably get an external strobe (I like the specs on the new Inon).
