To the people that are complaining about how Docc has chosen to express himself here and claim that he should just have stopped payment without saying anything.....calling him a baby and a whiner........the reality is that hundreds (a WAG) of people do this every week here but for different reasons. I personally see very little difference with this situation when compared to the person that comes back complaining about a dive shop or equipment manufacturer. Docc requested his payments be stopped and only explained why when asked.

Please do not renew my supporting member status and change me to a regular, non-paying member.

Docc was VERY mature about it and has only done the right thing IMO. Heck he was even polite in his request....that right there should scare ya

I agree! Quite often when a Dive Shop or a manufacturer is complained about, many other ScubaBoardians jump to their defense and often castigate the complainer. I can't tell you how moving it is that even idocSteve has even chosen to defend us!

However, the person to first elicit the reason why from DOCC was you in post #4. You stirred the pot and now you wonder why people are commenting? To be sure, I think it's great that we talk about our differences as well as our similarities. After all, ScubaBoard is built on such discourse. It's what we do best.

There are a lot of people who stop supporting ScubaBoard for various reasons. More often than not, it's simply personal. Like DOCC, they didn't like a certain decision or possibly they feel that others have simply been mean to them. Whatever the reason, we still appreciate the support that they HAVE given us.

I would hardly label my question as stirring the pot Pete. I simply made a statement which could have elicited any of a hundred different responses. I had no prior knowledge of Docc's intentions and was simply making a simple and innocent joke. You are letting emotions get in the way of common sense again.

Oh and by the way, I never questioned why people were whining and bitching about Docc's post and his reasoning. I was imply stating that Docc was on the up and up. That is all.
