Is anybody aware of any Canadian based websites for purchasing dive equipment? By the time I pay shipping, duty, GST and convert, it could finance a small country.

Jimbo, you haven't indicated WHERE in The Great White North you reside.

Tam Dive is indeed a great place to get gear & advice, but they are located in the heart of downtown Toronto.

BTW, there are several manufacturers that are online, but it depends on which types of equipment you are looking for... you didn't give us much to go on in that dept.

Good luck!

Jimbo ....wherefore art htou living. TamDive is a great spot. The shop in TO is small but they are very knowledgable. I deal with their shop in Peterborough and they are great people. Butch :cold:

Well, I'm curious about potentially finding better prices the the LDS. Don't get me wrong, the LDS is great for really serious stuff like BC's and reg's but their prices can be beat on the net for things like lights and toys.

Jimbo,

I live in Montreal, about 1 hour from the US border. If you live near the border you can always have your stuff shipped to an address in the US and then go get it. That way you don't pay Tax or Duty... only shipping. Oviously when crossing the border, you must have done some scuba in the states and have owned this equipment for some time !!

This would give you the option to shop at the really inexpensensive online shops like DIVEinn, leisurepro and a few others.

Good luck,
