Looks like spare air is a big debate here LOL. Some like the idea of spare air and the majority thinks its pointless. =)
Everybody in the scubaboard forums carries a slung 40 cu ft tank on all dives or they claim to.

Can you Overfill Spare Air ?
that's why I use a spare air doubles setup.

Can you Overfill Spare Air off of your tank or will it only fill to the PSI of your main tank?

The spare air is rated to 3,000 psig. If you fill it from your main cylinder, the final pressure in the spare air will be the same as the air in the maun cylinder.
Lets say you are filling it from an al80 that is filled to 3,000 psig. the final fill pressure of the spare air and the al80 will be about 2,880 psig. ( this is based on an al 80 at 77.4 cu ft and a 3 cu ft spare air)

Sorry, but i don't need all this extra trash you keep talkin, why waste your time bashing...I post a question and expect professional answers, but apparently this board isn't what i thought it was and really don't care for it now. To all that did give good info, i thank you. but this is stupid.
