Looks like spare air is a big debate here LOL. Some like the idea of spare air and the majority thinks its pointless. =)

Everybody in the scubaboard forums carries a slung 40 cu ft tank on all dives or they claim to.:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

What good is a 3cuft Spare Air? Unless you want to play in a pool or a Snorkeler and want to go down to 5-10ft for a min, For almost the price of that you can get a Luxfer 30-40 and have a "Real Spare Air" something you could actually use at Depth in an emergency and make it safely to the surface with whatever Stops you may need.

if you can fill it to at least 10,000 psi you might have something useful.

Some sort of DPV?

:d

Sorry, but i don't need all this extra trash you keep talkin, why waste your time bashing...I post a question and expect professional answers, but apparently this board isn't what i thought it was and really don't care for it now. To all that did give good info, i thank you. but this is stupid. :shakehead:

BTW, don't reply to this cause im not coming back.

Can you Overfill Spare Air off of your tank or will it only fill to the PSI of your main tank?
Just Curious.....Thanks

:dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:

The spare air is rated to 3,000 psig. If you fill it from your main cylinder, the final pressure in the spare air will be the same as the air in the maun cylinder.
Lets say you are filling it from an al80 that is filled to 3,000 psig. the final fill pressure of the spare air and the al80 will be about 2,880 psig. ( this is based on an al 80 at 77.4 cu ft and a 3 cu ft spare air)

Jim Breslin

Thanks, that what i thought:blinking:

Sorry! Your question was asked and answered to your satisfaction before the silliness started. There is a wide body of thought within the industry that the product is dangerously inadequate thus our fuss...
