Hi guys, new diver here.
I’ve just upgraded my reg hoses to all red miflex, apart from the octo which is yellow.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a red miflex SPG hose as I currently still have a rubber one on my triple console.
Is it as simple as a high pressure hose connected to the SPG or does it need to be a whole new console that already has miflex attached ?
Thanks guys !

You can swap it out for a high pressure miflex hose. Not sure I have seen them in red, but I've never looked. ETA - I just looked, didn't find any in colors, only gray. It does have to be a high pressure hose, the colorful low pressure hoses won't fit and would probably rupture even if they did.

It isn't hard to do, but you should probably have someone that knows what they are doing help you out. Getting your SPG out of the console will be the hardest part.

The obvious solution is air integration with no hose:)

Took my regulator to be serviced at Stoney Cove. It came back with a new shiny carbon black miflex HP hose as the old one leaked. Don't know of any other colours.

As others have said, miflex don't do high pressure hoses in anything but black.

It needs to be an HP hose, a LP reg/BCD hose won't work.

I've had a look and tecline do red HP hoses, but they're rubber and not braided like miflex.

Once you find a hose you like you can just switch that out, no need for a new console/spg.

I don't think you're going to find too much color variation in high pressure hoses. I've only seen the following:
  • Thicker "black" braided HP hoses (Like DRIS and DGX house brands)
  • Thinner "carbon black" mifare HP hoses
  • Stainless braided overwrap HP hoses
  • Rubber hoses, mostly just seen black, other colors may be available
I've never seen anything else offered from any US or EU sources. If you're using miflex hoses for inflator and regs, and you want a braided hose for your SPG as well, those thinner silvery grey carbon black mifare hoses are probably your best bet. The reliability issues on HP hoses are all worked out long ago from any reputable source. If the HP hose fails, its going to be the o-ring on the spool (slow leak) or the hose dieing of old age. Replace your hoses every 5 years and don't sweat either. If for some reason you find a source for color HP hoses, please stop back and update this thread and we'll all learn something, but I don't think what you're looking for exists.

edit - if you're using a console with a boot, I don't think I'd swap in a miflex hose at all

That sounds like a good excuse for upgrading my peregrine to the TX already 🤣

It does, doesn't it? Post a pic!

I have a SPG in a boot and just swapped for a thin miflex hose.

I've been using thin Miflex hoses on SPG for something like 20 years ( I don't remember exactly when I got the first ones) without any problem.

There was a time more than ten years ago that the short ones (6" that I use for transmitter or Side Mount) were recalled, I never had a problem with these either before or after the recall. I may still be using some of these even today...

For travel, I use only a short Miflex hose with a transmitter.
