Just read a cool story in todays St Louis Post Dispatch. There's a marine aquarium in St Louis where there's this marine biologist who patented a process for accelerating coral growth. His process is based on shocking coral stem cells with concentrated salt water. He places the stem cells in concentrated salt water, the cells respond by growing faster. The neat thing is, when the cells are placed in sea water of normal salinity, they keep growing at an accelerated rate.
Can reef rebuilding be my next career? (drool!)
