I've never seen a canister light - I've read some of these go 6+ pounds... yikes. Nice brick.

Actually, a brick weighs less.

18W. My light cannon is what, 10w? Maybe less...I don't remember. 18w of HID must be pretty solar.

That would be their old top of the line. That is a really big canister!

My Pro6 is already really big. I wouldn't want a larger canister for recreational use.

I think the Pro6 is 11lbs, -3lbs immersed. The Pro14 is 18lbs, -6 immersed.

Big light.

Peter

Edit: 5.5hr burn time with that 18W bulb. Not too shabby :)

The manual in the picture is probably printed on 8 X 10.

:)

What the heck is that on O-Ring's Bat Utility Belt, anyway? wow. Nothing like throwing a DieHard into a Trashcan and strapping it on....

O-ring’s canister actually contains a cold fusion reactor. It will power his HID light head for ten consecutive years. Plus he can use it to jump start cars after the dive or provide power to small villages while on dive trips.

The battery is lead acid, not the newer NIMH. They are still available by "special order" from Halcyon, probably till existing stock runs out. Someone probably got a great deal from an friendly authorized dealer clearing out their stockroom of old stock that they can't sell anymore and is looking to "flip" it....

There is another one that is "used" up also on eBay, they show up every few weeks from what I've seen.

It's not a bad price at all for the 18w HID lamp head if you have a 3rd party cannister you want to hook it up to, but not worth the effort if you are considering getting it to upgrade the Explorer cannister for a Halcyon cannister like the Helios 9 cannister.

But it's so big, I heard that the US government is interested in buying it off him and presenting it to North Korea in an effort to provide a diplomatic alternative to restarting nuclear power plants.
