Can someone please explain this oddity to me?

Who's disgruntled? If you're referring to my last post, then you read it wrong. It wasn't meant in that way at all. All I was trying to say is that having a bunch of cards doesn't necessarily mean you're a card collector. There have been some references to card collecting here and how it's a bad thing. I just want to clarify that seeking an education and more experience is not a bad thing. The two shouldn't be confused.

Caught on to this when late but yep thats the kind of stuff you get from PADI, pay and you shall recieve, I had a good friend who took an advanced class with a padi shop while hhe was on vacation when he came back and emailed the book work..which i dont agree with....and told me about it i made him take one with our Local NAUI dive shop... you have in class book work, in water training, and openwatter dives , you get what you pay for god quality training, The other place alowed him to do his normal dives and use a compass or about 5 min in a parking lot and that was it WOW
