Just kidding, I just wanted to show off to everyone that we saw this dude(tte) at Landing cove Yesterday. I think this is pretty much a hotspot for them because last year just about 200yds north of where we saw this guy I was able to take pics of 5 of them, all 4.5' minimum in legnth. Crazyness!

4.5' in length... why those are just babies! That's robbing the cradle. To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee, now THIS is a giant sea bass...

That's me in the background... all 6' 1" and 250 pounds. This bass reportedly had 1-2 foot over me in length (and QUITE a bit more in weight!).

Are you in that drysuit or wetsuit?

I'm diving with the Peace next Wed-Thur, 7/25-26, and I would LOVE to see a giant sea bass! Man I'm getting excited!

How frequently do you see those in California?

Does seeing it on a dinner plate count? :D

Oh man...I'm jealous! So far the only giant sea bass I've seen has been...at the Long Beach Aquarium!

Nice pic Billy -- I especially like the angle. :)
