Hey,
Been diving for quite some time, and am proud to say that my confidence in water has improved and weight requirements reduced, but the following is simply ridiculous.
Before the summer, as I was doing my rescue course in Dutch Springs, I had to take down 10 lbs, with a 7mm FJ, hood and gloves. I'm using a BP with SS wing.
Back in Asia during the summer, I was diving the warm tropics with a 4/3 suit, and required no weights. However, I was still kinda over weighted, since it was a SS plate.
Came back to the States, and dove Dutch again, this time with a 7/5 suit, 5/3 hooded vest and gloves. Brought down 10 lbs again, and found out that i was way over-weighted. Second dive, i did not bring down any weights at all, and still found that i was too heavy.
With that said, should i purchase an AL plate instead? And say if I dive dry in the future, or even doubles, would it be advisable to keep the SS? Or should I just forgo it and get the AL? Thanks guys! Weighting issues has been driving me nuts!
