Good morning,
Wife and I went to the LDS this weekend for their year end 1 day sale. They have store wide savings and sales of used equipment. We bought my wife a Sea quest Diva Luxury edition BCD for 75.00. It was the owner of the stores BCD and she says she only keeps them for about a year. Seems to be in perfect condition, except she showed us were the Velcro for the integrated weights is starting to wear, and does not hold as tight as a new one. The part that is wearing is the side of the Velcro that is sewn onto the BCD. I really do not think its a problem and still has plenti of holding strength at this point. But if it were possible to send it in for repair I would not hestitate as this BCD new would run about 600.00. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
David

I can tell you the bcd is older than 1 year because sea quest hasn't used velcro in their integrated weights in ages. It's all surelock now. Let me know if sea quest will do the repairs. Warranty is supposed to be good for original owner only. Maybe if the dive store is an authorized dealer and gives you a receipt saying it was new, you'd be ok.

I'd suggest that you try getting the answers to your questions from the only source that counts: SeaQuest!

I took my Seaquest Balance to a local shore repair - he had a big commercial sewing machine- and he stitched in some new velcro (my material - his labor) and $15.00 later...voila.

I agree- they use Sure Lock for the weights now...much more better.

DEAD THREAD WALKING!

(I'm guessing the OP didn't wait four years to have it repaired.)

Not all are Sure Lock...Diva XLT and Passport use Quick Draw (Velcro)
