Anybody know if monprene (TPE) can be patched or repaired? I have a set of Scubapro Seawing Nova Gorilla fins that have split apart at the joint between the foot pocket and the blade. So far I've tried GearAid Aquaseal FD (because I had it on-hand), which didn't last a single dive; and some bungees, which have held for a few dives.

Thermo Plastic is the operative word

I doubt any glue would work in such a case with a big 3d space (maybe aquasure can help a hole in a bcd made out of monoprene like the Hydros Pro)

Maybe.. maybe… you can have a metal “cast” around the area and heat it up… maybe it can heal; like a bone
but ask someone that knows better about Polymers tbh — not really my domain

The threaded bungee is quite a good mcgyver move tho; that could provide an alternative idea of “screwing the bone”

thing is, this looks like the joint that would have a lot of continuous mechanical stress, idk how long any solution would endure — would love to be proven wrong better as good news

I think that's covered by Scubapro
Send this photo to Scubapro .
And any other photos as well.

Should be covered but make sure you have a had to save my trip of a lifetime by the temporary emergency repair when YOUR fins failed!! Story ready. Next is try to talk them into replacement with some supernova’s.

Hahaha. Guess I should have attempted that route first. I doubt they'd cover it now that I've made "alterations".

This happened on your first day of diving on your vacation, and you still had many days to dive. Just contact them ASAP.
