Can BC compensate for weight?....

Thanks Tim, that's great to know. It won't be enough i think. I use 14 kg of lead alone with my Trimalite suit. Better look into something new and a wing type might be just the thing, I can use it if I deside to go further with courses.

I'll also be diving in Galapagos later this year (just thought I'd throw that in) and with extra neoprene I don;t think the light weight BC is a good idea. It's a great travelling BC but i think I'll stick to warm tropical water with it.

Anybody have recommendations on Wing BC's? can u use a wing BC with rebreathers?
 
14 kg, (almost 31 lbs) - That much lead would be more expected for a 7mm farmer john suit than a shell. What kind of undies are you using?
Perhaps you may be able to squeeze more air out of the suit before jumping in.
Also, your BC should be looked at to make sure its not trapping a lot of air.
