Both are CyKlon's, the one with the DIN wheel on the bottom is older amd most likely a 300 also sold as the Thor, the one with the wheel on the side is a 5000

They're both Cyklons, different first stages. We can rebuild them, and Poseidon still supports them.

Here are the stats from the 2003 repair manual, not much of a difference for anything you will feel underwater, The major changes are the position and greater maximum airflow in the 5000 vs. the 300. But 800 l/min is still way more then you will ever need.

As I said, the 5000 has better hose routing with the hoses coming off horizontally vs the 300 where some will end up going upward or downward. The 5000 also looks to be in better shape, so I'd go with the 5000 first. The 300 should be OK, but with the look of the exterior, you may end up with corrosion issues on the inside. Also, the older 300 may have dry rot of the rubber parts of the 2nd stage that the 5000 does not just because of age.

thanks for the infos guys. Can i also ask if I can use any(non poseidon) 2nd stage octopus for these cause i dont plan using twins.

As per Gilldiver's excellent exchange of info up there, the secondary pressure of a Poseidon first being 40psis higher than a standard second, the standard occto or reg will open and close by it self like a slow machine gun if matched to a Poseidon first utilising a Poseidon second, you can however utilise non Poseidon seconds with Poseidon firsts if not using them with Poseidon seconds and crank the intermediate pressure of the Poseidon first
down.
Poseidon firsts also have another pressure, just to confuse things.

pull the 2nd stage from the older first and put it on the 5000 1st stage -- now you will be better matched for an octo on a singles rig --- using a standard octo will not work well because the Poseidon intermediate pressure is a little high for regular octos and will cause free flow

cheers

Hard to see a 300 second in those typically unfortunate photo's.
