Hi guys,

Above water i shoot nikon dslrs. With my d90 i use manual exposure but set the flash gun for TTL flash. This allows me to have full control of the shutter and aperture to get what effect i want (background visibility in low light with slow shutters and freezing motion with flash, shooting against bright backgrounds but lighting the foreground with flash, etc). My brain is wired to think this way now.

i have an epl1, associated oly housing, and ufl2 flash. Can i shoot in manual exposure and have the camera do automatic flash exposure? What combination of setting would give me that? I don't want to shoot manual flash, so my next option would probably be shutter priority with auto flash.

thanks
rick

Yes, you can shoot full manual in TTL mode <m on the dial> and readily adjust your F stops, ISO and EV compensation.

I always had a hard time with the UFL-2 for the few months I used it.

Either its not an intuitive strobe, or im an intuitive person. I cant comment on the strobe settings.

You will want to set your flash to full when you are shooting TTL. The strobe will interpret the flash.
