Talked to a different person today, apparently a supervisor. He told me a different story than the other rep. told me. He said they didn't do any repairs on the housing and it was sent back after testing and no problems were found. So, no replacement. Ugh.

I actually took the housing on a dive this past weekend, to 90', without it leaking a drop. I would think that I had overlooked something on the case when the housing flooded, except for the fact that so many other people have had the same problem with the Oring popping out of the same corner. It seems the problem isn't consistant dive after dive. Olympus will only acknowledge a problem if they can reproduce it - I guess I can't blame them. They offered me another new camera, for the discounted price of $500 - which is about $40 more than I paid for it brand new(not discounted) online. Eh... thanks, but no thanks.

I'm going to buy another camera from 17photo.com and then an Ikelite housing from my LDS. I'll eBay the damned Oly case(I don't trust it) and probably buy an extra camera for those just in case happenings... Oh, and insurance ;)

WOW - that's just wrong!

I'd highly recommend the DEPP insurance. My YS25A strobe flooded. I called in, shipped it off to NH, and less than 2 weeks later I had a replacement strobe. Strobe cost would have been a minimum of 200, and the insurance was 69 (which also covers our other camer and some gear).

Thanks for the tip, I'm planning on going through DEPP just as soon as I can scrounge the money for another cam :) Should be end of Jan, early Feb?...
