I've been diving for a few years and would like to actually start taking some pictures! I'm brand new to underwater photography and wanted some advice from a few you you experts. I was thinking about two potential set ups:

1) Canon SD960 (point and shoot) with an Ikelite housing and Ikelite DS-51 strobe.

OR....

2) Sea and Sea DX-2G with YS-110a strobe.

I like the Canon SD960 b/c it's a solid camera and I can buy it cheap through costco. Also, the housing and strobe isn't too expensive. I like the S&S camera b/c it seems to be a bit higher end and better designed for u/w use.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Is it worth it to pay more for the S&S or am I just as well off saving money on the Canon and Ike gear?

I'm just worried about getting into a bad set up. Any thoughts?
