Does anyone know if the California Dive Center formerly of San Bruno is gone for good? There were some posts about 8 months ago from one of their instructors saying they were having a moving sale, but their website is gone.

Funny, a search of old posts showed that this question was asked several years ago as well, when I know the store was still open. Go figure.

Thanks

Hi, I remember that sale. My understanding is that the shop is gone for good. The owner apparently had a change of heart, and decided not to keep the shop open after all. I got this update ~1 month ago from a DM active at California Dive Center when it was in business. I think the information was accurate, unless something has changed since then. Todd

The "change of heart" also means he keeps the cash my brother-in-law spent on a gift certificate for us in December, when it was a "we're moving" sale. Kinda low. Can anyone else confirm that they are gone?

They are gone! I bought the last few stuff from them and that was it.

Ouch.

I was told that they were originally going to be moving stores but that something happened with the lease on the new facility and so he decided to close shop. Never seemed "quite right" to me - but there you go. I got some goodies from them before closing.

Yuck. Sorry, I don't have any more information.

Two months ago I got ripped off on an OMS cannister light on eBay. Paypal awarded me a meager $200 bones. I filed with the police, postal service, etc., but will probably never see the money.

The worst part was that the seller would tell me by phone every week, "it's been shipped." Then he told me by phone, "it's been returned by mail, and I'm shipping it out again." Then he stopped answering my calls. Todd

Well, did you gave him the right address and even go over it on the phone Todd?

Weekly. Read the part about the unreturned calls, PayPal investigation/refund, and the cops.
