Cabo Pulmo -diving, driving, sleeping, eating

Will be in Cabo in early May. We have two free days and were considering driving from the airport to Cabo Pulmo and staying for a couple of nights before moving into better accomodations.

I would appreciate any advice or information folks may have on getting there (is the umpaved portion of the road driveable?), staying there (how is the Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort?), eating and most importantly - diving and the dive operator.
