Hello all,

I have a C8080 and for some reason my monitor (LCD) button will not work. It is very odd. It was working fine in the morning but then it just stopped. It is not the LCD screen itself because if I turn the camera on to playback mode and don't have any images on my card, the LCD monitor displays, "No Pics." But, I can only view all menus or review all images through the viewfinder. Whenever I press the monitor button, it does not switch the view.

Any ideas?

I was hoping their might have been a setting I accidentally pressed.

thanks

L

I just called Olympus. There is a $270 flat fee charge to look at the camera. If it can be fixed for $5.00 it will still cost $270.00. Unbelievable. This will be the last Olympus camera I buy.

Is the camera out of waranty for a long time?
My experience is that as long as you have a reasonable complaint then the manufacturers have been good about fixing them.
Can you take it back to the shop you bought it from?
Maybe they can get a better deal from Olympus.
Maybe there is a local electronics workshop that can look at it for you, it could just be dust in the switch.

I wish you luck.
