I have a 384MB CF card and a 128MB xD card in the camera all the time.. so there is lots of room.. for movies and pictures..

This is one of my first images...

Here is another one.. but the back scatter is driving me nuts.. at least I think that's what it is.. I checked the lens for finger prints and condensation and I didn't see any...

Yep...that's backscatter alright! You'd be surprised what floats around in a public pool....

If you think the water was bad, you should have seen the stuff floating on the bottom :)
OK.. next question.. I don't have a strobe yet, how do I minimize backscatter?

You don't if you're using your internal flash. The flash is only good for about 3ft. In your picture, the flash was totally useless as far as lighting your subjects. All you did was highlight the spooge in the pool! Next time try it without the flash.

Know why you get backscatter? The fixed flash sends the light straight out in front. It hits particles in the water and the reflection bounces straight back into the camera. To avoid it, you need to be able to shoot your flash at an angle to your subject. With an external strobe, you're able to move the strobe to the desired position.

Thank you for your tips..
I'll be back in the pool on Wednesday.. I'll play with the flash. Its easy enough to turn off.. As a matter of fact the PT-015 is really easy to use under water. And I am already very comfortable with all the buttons :)
I just hope I can keep the camera steady enough. I normally get 1/30 for the exposure time, and that might be a bit blurry.. I also have to find some more crud on the bottom of the pool to work on my macro skills.. So far eveything was out of focus..But I'll get it right eventually.

Try kicking that shutter speed up to at least 1/125, and play with it up to 1/800! Find out what it will do. The film is free...hehe. A slow shutter speed will result in camera jiggles...that's a technical term!

The grating on the drain and the globes around the pool lights always make good macro subjects!
