I bring the logbook with me on trips, and might even have it in the car, but won't bring it into the sloppy, wet boat envirionment. I just jot down a few details while on the boat, and fill out my log later.vogelrealty:Do you take your log book out on the boat.

In 400+ dives in many different resort areas, I've never shown my logbook. With a few operators in the Florida Keys, they either wanted to see an AOW or Rescue cert card, or a logbook showing similar dives before they would take you out to some wrecks.
A good dive operator WILL ask about your experience. Even if they don't ask, be sure that they, and your buddy, know that you are a new diver. Knowing that you are a new diver may affect the dive sites they go to, and what sort of things they review in the dive briefings.

I do plan on diving alot in the keys, a friend of mine has a house close to islandmorota, that I will be visiting alot. He is a very experianced diver and is going to take me out when ever I want. Iam go to get my aow here in nebraska before I go there. But all we have is sand pits here. Iam also going to volunteer at our zoo to clean the shark & penguin tank.Charlie99:I bring the logbook with me on trips, and might even have it in the car, but won't bring it into the sloppy, wet boat envirionment.
