I've just recently returned to the boards so this question probably has been asked, but I can not find it by doing a search.

How did the C-53(I think it's C-53) survive the hurricane?

From what I have read, it is still closed until the can assess the integrity and safety of the wreck.

Our DM told us (last week) that it could be dove only on the outside - no penetration - until some saftey issues are addressed. I have read a couple of recent comments by folks implying they have been inside recently.

The wreck is still only open to dive from the outside.

Yucab, Tormentos, and Chankanaab (shalow section) are still closed as well. I know some people have dove these sites, but I confirmed with the marine park late last week that they are still closed.

My friend told me he dove it at the end of November and that the superstructure or gun mount is gone, there is a cracked opening on the port side. Since it was his first time diving it he wasn't familiar with the inside except that the 2 of the 3 toilets are now unattacched and broken and the third is still okay. Passageways were open with a few pieces of metal protuding...nothing seemed loose.

Damn.... We have photos of all of us sitting on those toilets! ROFL!

Everyone that has dove that site with a camera has pictures sitting on the toilets...
