Please share any BVI Dive Resort recommendation you may have for BVI islands.

We are celebrating. I am retiring, my youngest son (Blue Boy - for those attending Invasion 2024) graduates SUMA Cum-Laude from Virginia Tech in Engineering.

We are a family of three divers, two-non divers, and two would like to get certified. What BVI resort would have the best topside activities and underwater/boat dives in the BVI islands?

Congrats! Those are some great reasons to celebrate. Check out Scrub Island Resort - located just off Beef Island/Tortola (where the airport is located <EIS>). We have a dive center there and we also have a location in Virgin Gorda if you are interested in villas or rentals on that lovely island!

Cheers,
Jeff

We have a catamaran in the BVI and are there 4-5 times a year. There are no true dive resorts in the BVI. There are high end resorts (Little Dix Bay, Guana Island, Peter Island - reopening this October), smaller resorts on the various islands and many villas available across all the islands. Virgin Gorda is a great place to base. I would suggest contacting Trudy at bestofbvi and get her suggestions for a villa there - there are many to choose from. For diving I recommend Sunchaser Scuba out of Bitter End Yacht Club. We have been out with every shop in the BVI and they are, quite simply, the best op there. Professional yet fun and friendly, small groups and excellent equipment. We have had many crew members and family take courses and finish certifications with them. They will pick up at the Leverick Bay Marina docks if you are not at Bitter End (Bitter End’s new beach cottages are available for rental starting this season). We do not recommend Scrub Island for a variety of reasons. Happy to answer any questions about the BVI that you may have.
