Notice how the inflator button wraps around nearly the entire inflator unit. I have seen many divers renting Oceanic BC's both deflating and inflating at the same time as it is necessary to hold it very precisely to not inflate when you are trying to deflate. :(

That is the worst in/deflator design in all of scuba, IMHO.

if it ends up being a massive nuisance i can always get some generic inflator right. how ever it seems more of something to get used to.

for 50 bucks, i think you got a good deal. Like others have said, since you are kinda new to diving, what you want right now is something that gets you in the water and works. as you gain experience, you'll figure out what you like and what you don't like, and what works and doesn't work for you.

You will upgrade, it is just a matter of when, we all do it; but it is nice to get out there and dive without a huge investment. I dive occassionally with at least 4 people that buy their gear new, and change it up about every year because they didn't like something about their setup. When new BCDs are in the $300 range, it gets expensive.

Enjoy your "new to you" BCD, now hurry up and get it wet!
