I am going to be traveling to the Caribbean and Mexico and I was wondering if anyone has purchased their gear while traveling (specifically thinking ScubaPro). I bought an Aqualung reg in Europe for a steal. I was just wondering if one can get a good bargain while on vacation in that part of the world compared to US prices.

Thanks

*Edit - To be clear, I am wondering if one can get a good price on scubapro in the Caribbean or Mexico as compared to US prices.

In Europe they have MUCH higher sales tax than in the US. It will also depend on the exchange rate between USD vs. Euro.

Why not contact the 'shops' you may be able to buy from, ask the price! Ask what the tax is, and if you can get a refund on leaving the country.

Well, the dive gear on the caribbean islands is bought in the US and than shipped to the islands. And the shipping is not exactly cheap, so of course it is more expensive than in the US.
