Thanks!
I just wanted to throw in my two cents and give them a few ideas on what has worked for me. I really think most of the equipment out there on todays market is reliable so I believe it would be hard to make a bad choice on equipment. I have found most people seem to be loyal to the kind or type of equipment they were trained on or their local dive shop carries where they were certified.
I would also add this to my post. I am not knocking buying equipment online and will not sit here and tell you that I have never done so. If price is your main concern then it is probably the cheapest way to go and you may find something online that your local dive shop may not carry. But if at all possible, support your local dive shops by doing business with them. I have probably purchased 90% of my equipment that way. Not only have I built a friendship with them, but they are always there to answer any questions without being put on hold. If something goes wrong with a piece of equipment, you can usually take it to them and they can solve the problem on the spot. No mailing something off and waiting weeks to get it back. And it's much easier to try something on there and see if it fits than by trail and error through the mail. I have also found that if you are a repeat customer, they can/will usually work out a discount for you and may be able to come pretty close to the internet price.
The bottom line is this, they are there for you when you need them so be there for them when you need something.
