I can only echo Herman....Please spend the time to learn to dive well before you add a camera to your tasking.

And on that same note.... Make sure you are thoroughly familiar with the camera above water before you attempt to take it underwater.

I was debating myself in what to buy a few weeks ago, and the best recommendation I got from this forum was C-5050 with housing PT-015.
The best pricing I found on www.6ave.com for the camera and www.newegg.com for the housing (following this forum's hints).

As for the hints about diving a little bit more before investing the money in UW photo gear, what if you add a bit more money and get a couple of classes ....
- One in Peak Performance Buoyance
- And one in UW Photography
That way you can offset a little bit your lack of experience in diving with some additional training that will improve your skills.
