Don, you can put 2 lb weights directly on the tank bands if needed. One of the reasons why so many people like rigs such as the Transpac (and of course, BP/W) is the lack of clutter. I keep everything not clipped to me in a single Dive Rite bellows pocket and use a weightbelt.

I'm not encumbered by a lot of knowledge in this sector.... tell me how? How would I attach the weights to the tank bands?

BTW: I ordered a Deep Bellows pocket, a clipper pocket and the 16lb weight pockets. I'm actualy thinking I should use two clipper pockets for the weights. What's your opinion on that?

Remember, I'm spoiled and I don't want to wear a belt.

Don Janni:
You know I almost did that very thing but Scubatoy's is my remote LDS of choice. They meet Dive Sports price and I felt a little bad for throwing that at them.

I wasn't going to go up to Dive Sports and try things on then go somewhere else to buy it. Had I known Dive Sports before Scubatoys then it might be different but Scubatoys takes good care of me and I'm not switching.

Once I get my hands on it (and not wet) if I think better of it I'll just ship it back. The shipping cost will probably be less than the fuel to drive to Dive Sports.

Nothing wrong with Scubatoys or purchasing it there. I didn't know where you got it. I just menitoned the above option since they could assist with the fitting question you had and the were soooo close.

I agree. I wouldn't have gone up there to try it on and then not buy it from them. Or from Scubatoys or any other shop if they were the local shop either. It's only fair to the shop that way.

Hope you enjoy your new Transpac.

...and I appreciate you mentioning it.

Thread them through the straps after you buckle the tank down. The tank band is the same webbing size as a weight belt. I've used up to a 3 lb weight on the tank band. You can also buy the little XS scuba pockets for $5 each and thread those through the bands in the same way if you want to be fancy.

Humm... not sure I'm visualizing that correctly. "AFTER I buckle the tank down" is throwing me off. Should it be before you buckle the tank down?

Are you saying thread 2 weights onto the tank band so there will be a weight on each side of the tank and then put the tank strap back into the buckle and buckle the tank down?

No, I put my single weight on the top strap after I've secured the tank. If you want 2, use top and bottom with the weight in the middle of each tank. Just move the buckle over a bit by pulling on it.

Is this a lead weight with the tank band threaded threw it? If so what keeps it from falling off.

Yes, just like threading it through a weighbelt. There is velcro on the strap which holds it down keeps the weight secure. I've never lost a weight on my tank strap. With your tank and BC facing you, scoot the buckle a bit to the right. Push the buckle down. Thread the weight through the tank strap until it is in the middle. Press the velcro end down. Easy-peasy.

I see!!! I'll try that.

Thanks.
