After reading this thread, my first thought was to safety wire them -- I have safety wire pliers and plenty of experience doing this, but it seems a bit excessive.
I think running a small black ziptie through the eye of each shackle pin then around the shackle is plenty strong enough to keep them from coming out, and very easy to remove.
