Hey All,

After a 2 year diving hiatus, I finally unearthed my UK Light Cannon 100 - however it doesn't appear to work - look it to my LDS for a look over, luckily he had a light cannon with a known good ballast - after some tinkering, he suspects the bulb is bad. There is the possibility it could have been dropped while being put in storage, and with the legendary fragility of the bulb, I guess that could have happened....

Due to my current financial status as poor grad student - Im not sure I want to plunk down a 100 bucks to get another bulb, that I may end up killing after another 10 dives...I was thinking I could just stick a mag light/cree/truefire 400+ Lumen led light into the housing of the Light Cannon 100? Any comments on this idea?

It doesn't look like UK sells a converter for a Light Cannon to become an LED light? Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Bob

SLX 800t LED Dive Light ($400)

So the OP dosen't want to spend $100 to fix it but NL wants you to spend $400 on a new one. That's funny.

May want to ask the question in the DIY forum. Those guys could find a way.
I don't think UK had a conversion in mind when they designed the Light Cannon since it produced more lumens than the C8eLED+. WOnder if the head of the UK Aqua Sun would mount to the LC100?
