Standard sockets should work - the cheaper ones are probably thinner walled. I use commercial multi-valve tools for loosening things - and the torque wrench for reinstalling. Torque is critical when replacing PRD's. Thermo & Sherwood valves don't take much and you can strip the threads easily if you overtighten. Genesis valves require a little more torque - but are larger PRDs. Leak test the valve after you reinstall to insure no bubbles. If you don't have a torque wrench, or know what values to use, it might be a good idea to take your valve by your LDS for them to install for you.
I can take them out with a nut driver but my torque wrench needs a socket. I'll browse around the stores to see if I can find a thinner walled socket that fits.
Thanks everyone. Glad to know I don't need anything special.

Reference I found recommend 80 inch pounds, not more than 100 inch pounds. Never had one torqued low to fail, but if you over tighten they will blow out for sure.
