Dove Burnham Ledge yesterday with John M. and some folks from Aquatic Escapes off the Gauntlet with Capts. Dave and Heather. Weather on the way out and while getting suited up was showers and foggy. Visibility on the dive was in the 10 foot range (I'm beginning to think it's me since I can't seem to hit a dive with visibility over 10 feet). First dive was about 30 minutes with a max depth of 95' for me and 101' for John. Second dive maxing out at 85' was a bit shorter in duration with the same vis since it was the same site. There was a bit of current as well. John and I headed due east from the mooring line which put us into the current on the way out. Neat coming back with the current pushing -- almost felt like flying! Lots of neat stuff to look at too with interesting fish, starfish, horse mussels, invertabrates, anemones etc. I think I remember water temps at around 47 on my computer -- would have to double check it though. And to top off a fine day, we got pulled over and boarded by the Mass. Environmental Police while coming back in to the Salem harbor. We're sure they were checking to see if we were "lobstering" and were probably really bored since there wasn't much traffic. To the bain of lobstermen everywhere (at least in Mass), and disappointment of the Environmental Police I'm sure, we did not have, nor did we steal a single lobster.
