Anybody know how Burlington Scuba is nowdays (post-Jack) as far as service quality, people, etc.?

I found them friendly, willing to always chat, and generally knowledgable, if a bit limited to the gear they carry (a BP/W was descriped as "that thing technical divers use"). Prices were all over the place. Great wetsuit price (for a very nice Deep Sea 7mm stretch) and best price on soft weights that I've seen in MA. Other products are rather over-priced compared to PG in Newton (where I do most of my shopping). Haven't had anything serviced by BS, so can't speak to that issue. Did rent tanks there a few times, but found the 72cf Fabers they rent (actually only filled to 65cf due to loss of "+" rating) to be rather non-ideal for the dives I was doing. Overall a good DS, but I personally prefer PG. Just feel more comfortable there (and how can you disagree with free air!).

I have gone into Burlington Scuba only a few times over the years. They were always a last resort for an emergency air fill. Everytime I have gone in the place was literally a cloud of cigarette smoke. I avoid the place like The Plague.

My last visit was a few years ago. If they have a new owner I would not have any experience with them.

The owner(co-owner?) who was a great guy died a few years ago. (Don't think he was the one that smoked all the time.) The status of the place seemed up in the air for a while after that but then the place continued on with I assume some new people and maybe some old.
