mct--Are you close to any harbors, seaports, marinas etc.? If so, I'll bet some floatation material (something that doesn't compress easily) could be obtained, probably even as scrap or salvage. If you can squeeze it easily it won't be too good to use at depth but typically foam floatation for marine purposes is e pretty sturdy and doesn't compress much. It may be a short term solution until you get back home and can order something else, if that doesn't prove suitable. // ww
