The Divers for Cleaners Lakes and Oceans went out to Buntzen Lake again for our third clean up dive there. Small group of four divers but we were able to remove 238lbs of garbage in 45 min. The main culprit 184 beer bottles and 274 beer cans but of course there were hundreds of other personal garbage like lighters, sunglasses, shoes, hats,...etc. Feel free to read about the blog on my Project Aware page. There are also a little bit of photos of our clean up, above and below the water.

Unfortunately there is also another "party" area on the other side of the lake that the rangers told us about that has even more garbage. We will go back in the Spring and conduct an open clean up dive day. Please contact me if you wish to volunteer. If you can contribute to our fundraising page, it would be greatly appreciated as well.

Cheers
Henry
