Ok, so I have kind of a strange situation... I'm built funny and I can't find a BC that fits!

I'm short and have a short waist, but I'm busty. Small BC's (the ones that I've been looking at) are to snug but meduims slide around at depth. So I guess I'm a size smedium? A mall perhaps?

Any suggestions on BC brands that might be comfortable?

Thanks!

A bp with a webbing harness might work... :)

Yes to the BP and wing.

You can make your own and they cost as much as a manufactured BC.

I have a short torso and long legs. I got a Fred T. short/heavy BP.

The BC fits me-not I fit the BC.

-- Try different brands. One company's medium can be significantly larger (or smaller) than another's.

-- Try a back-inflate BC such as SeaQuest's Libra or ScubaPro's LadyHawk. They may have more space for your bust because there is less fabric at the front.

-- Some of Zeagle's BCs are modular, so you can change some of the components (eg shoulder straps) to make a custom size.

Hope that helps,

Zept

That's what I dive with. You can get an Al backplate from anywhere, they are all basically the same. Go to Extreme Exposure in High Springs and look at the 27# pioneer wing, its made for single tanks and they sell the stuff to put together your harness.

sounds like your a perfect candidate for bp/wings. Its kinda like buying a custom fit peice of equipment.

Did you try a small without hooking up the chest strap? The chest strap on a vest BC should never be hooked (even for men) IMHO.

I have a BP and my wing is from EE. I tried many BCs before purchasing my own rig. You can rent a BP and wing from EE and try it out before you buy. I feel that a BP and wing is the best for getting the right fit. Everyone is different but you can adjust a BP&W to fit you. It will take some adjusting but once you have it set the way you want it, you just go dive.

If by chance you just don't want to get a BP&W the back inflats would be my second, suggestion. They come close to getting most of the stuff off the front of you.

Please try a BP&W I think you will be most impressed (in more ways than one).

Good luck. R

Not all women's BC's have those darn chest straps. I have an Aqualung Elan that works well because there is no upper chest strap. (Who invented that idea, anyway?) I am not particularly busty, but am very short-waisted for a 5'7" frame. Yet I still needed a small.....you may even have to go into an XS.

I don't think they make the Elan anymore, but it's possible another Aqualung might work for you. Good luck!

My oldest daughter is of similar shape. She tried everything she could get her hands on and settled on a Diva QD. Said nothing else was even close in fit and comfort.
