I just left Roatan July 3. Stayed out on the key at Anthony's Key Resort. I saw one mosquito in 9 days, so skeeters aren't the problem. The no-see-ums were there in force though. They are the size of a fleck of ground black pepper. DEET-based spray worked great. My wife is a bug-magnet but she left with only a few minor bites. We sprayed our feet and legs frequently - especially when we would be walking on sand.
