$1,000 is what I get from Delta out of Atlanta all year long. Between the prices and the two times a week flights, I have really resisted visiting Bonaire.

i am seeing 615 r/t on united for 2/9 to 2/17 with one stop in houston on google flights. long layover (6 hours) on return and united isn't great but at least not spirit/frontier.

Just had a friend do that. Down on Delta, back on AA was cheaper than any other option.

I've given up on returning to Bonaire.... Three of us are going to Curacao for just a little bit more than a single ticket to Bonaire...

You might try flying through Aruba (or Curacao). I'm flying Delta down, Divi-Divi to Aruba, then Southwest home Dec 8th to 22nd - a week on Bonaire diving solo, a week on Aruba with my wife. She's meeting me on the 15th in Aruba.

One thing about flying back through Aruba is that you go through customs there so no huge lines in Atlanta or Newark.

When we dove Bonaire, we actually went through CUR. As Kharon said, I wonder if it can be economically done that way?

We recently took the AA flight from Miami to Bonaire, started in Philadelphia, it was great. We had a terrible time with Insel on our previous visit, flying through Aruba.

I see Chicago-Miami-Bonaire for just under $1000

Because of the airfares, we just switched our Bon trip to May. Chicago to Bon through Miami was $700. Glad we had the flexibility. Accommodations with dive package was cheaper also. Anyone have experience with waiting to inside 3 months then trying? Do you screw yourself?
