Bryan:

Looking forward to arriving tomorrow evening.

How is the wind the next few days?

How does that impact the diving?

I saw on the weather forecast that there were seas of 5 to 8 feet. Hopefully that is out in open water.

Is the house reef an issue with that wind?

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks for the answers. Just not used to seeing that much wind. Maybe that is normal to you there.

Thanks.

JD

Where are you staying? Generally on the west or leeward side where all the resorts are located and the shore diving it is not an issue for seas or wind or current. Some issues sometimes in some locations but not generaly a big deal.

Give us some idea of where yoy are staying and you can get better recommendations.

If the winds and waves are up - you will feel some surge when swimming out to the reef. If they are up, you will probably want to submerge quickly and swim out underwater.

Once you are at the reef and drop to 40 ft, the surface conditions will not bother you, but high winds/waves might reduce visability. We were there last year after Omar - and the viz was "poor" - still 50 ft - OH, it was terribble, NOT!!;););)

JD,
Bryan was here tonight dining with friends leaving the island and some returning. OK, It was Andreas, he's back home on Curacao! Unfortunately David's flight from Miami was canceled and he missed out on relaxing and good conversation. I did not ask about the vis. We have had wind but it is very welcomed. In August and September when the tropical storms form elsewhere there are days without a breath of wind and it is HOT. At night when possible sit where it is windy and you won't be bothered by the mosquitoes. The bay is flat so I do not believe the seas would be 5 to 8 feet. You'll see soon enough. See you soon!
