Take a winter trip to the Carribean. I would say to the Caymans but they need to heal up from IVAN. It is always great to plan a trip to look forward to and survive your winter. Positive WARM thinking about diving in 80 to 85 degree water will warm the cockals of your heart.............

Too chilly to dive? Take a CPR course... and then get certified Oxygen Provider through DAN. Just some thoughts....

Well...I have the CPR...but will definitely look into the COP. Haven't heard of it being an offering locally.

A new mission, then. Better already!

Though, I would love to go the Carribean option mentionned above! Warm cockals are always nice. (if i just knew what they were :11: )

Hi all!
Getting to the end of the season for diving, here...so I am looking for a venue to help fill the gap and of course the bonus----learn along the way!

Hi Cat,
How about getting a drysuit? ;)

I admit they're quite expensive to buy, but they're worth it, especially if you live and dive in Canada. I'm just coming back from diving in 52 F/11 C water off Deer Island (N.B.), in the Bay of Fundy. With a few layers of under the suit, water was nice and balmy.

and then there's finding a buddy with suit...lol.

Welcome Cat I feel your pain...I'm near London ON.

Heya cat, welcome to the Board......! Brrrr is right!!!!! I can't imagine just how cold it actually gets there, you're always welcome to come down this way for a holiday and catch some dives. I think you'll find that the ScubaBoard does ease the diving withdraw pain a bit. There's so many different forums to check out and new divers to meet, that you'll stay pretty busy during your SI..... Good luck to ya, stay warm! :fruit:

Cheers,
Vickie

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
I have this problem year 'round. The airlines love me. :pilot: Fares to Miami-Ft.Lauderdale are cheap.

Sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help? PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

This place will help you keep your enthusiasm going until your season opens again. Either that or it will motivate you to go for a visit to some place warmer! :crafty:

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.
