Thanks Marcinny for bringing that question up. I (edited) put a link to their website in my original post. I cant assume everyone knows about the place and proof advertising is important. They do get some groups of NY'rs also during the year.

It's really not that bad of a drive from boston. About an hour and a half. I drive there very frequently from about 2 hours just for a day of diving. It's a pretty sweet place. Anyone know the current water temps?

50 degrees at surface. What matters most is the air temp if diving deep as its as cold in the winter as in summer at the very bottom. Just a few degrees different.

There is some nice diving at 30ft also and Ide expect it to be 40-45.

How long a drive from NYC? It seems to be the quarry that tech divers prefer...

Not too bad, depending on the traffic.........If it's good, less than 2 hrs. (ish) If you get onto the Merrit it's a nice ride, and the quarry is located in a small town, right off of Main st. Maybe 2 min. off of Rte 9.

I might have to go back out there someday, but I still think there is something morally wrong about an oceanographer diving in fresh water..... :D

Seriously though, it is a good time out there, and the "locals" are probably as entertaining as the diving.

Stop being such a snobby egg head, and get back here! :)The refugee camp is gone, and it's much nicer now. We moved the family out of the dumpster, and ran off all the coon hounds that were layin around too. As far as the locals go.....well, as long as your out before dark, and the banjo music starts, your good.

Unless you're into that sort of thing...... 8-0
