Saturday January 14, Open Dive. Rain Or Shine. Weather Man Says High 40 to Low 50's Danm Near Balmy!!!!!!

All are Invited to Dive Portland CT Quarry. 8AM to 4PM. If you have a tent bring it. As always a $10 dollar per person fee applys. If anyone is interrested in bringing food or groups let me know. If you plan on attending please post here. As always Scuba Shops/ Dive Boats/ etc.. may setup tents and show there stuff. If a shop or outfit cant show, PM me to send info. and we will distribute.

OK,, heres a little first hand skinny on the quarry as of 2:00pm Tuesday. There IS, a slight skin of ice on parts of the water, but is NOT near the shore, and is paper thin.
The vis is nothing short of FANTASTIC!! when I was there today I would say at LEAST 25', I did'nt have any way to check temp, but will do so tomorrow, and will post as soon as possible afterwards. Weather permitting, I sure would like to see a fiew new faces down here! That includes the "famous johnnyseko" who,, I am told, is impervious to cold water, and so dives wet suits....or naked... I forget what gidds told me exactly Maybe we could get Frank to wear an Elvis costume while piloting his destroyer about the quarry It should, as always, be fun, IF we can get a fiew DIVERS to show up!!!!

Note,, "IF" johnnyseko shows, and survives his dive intact... We will try to entice him to sign autographs post dive.

I may need directions, I don't know if I remember how to get there It's been sooo long . We can take Jim Jam's "old" light and point it up in the air like one of those directional spot lights you see at grand openings.....
