You're correct and I was wrong. According to the Bonaire Reporter the island government took ownership of this land in 2006. My previous statement was based on reading about prior ownership and unsuccessful attempts to develop the property after Sunset Beach Resort went bankrupt. I was further confused after reading about the private company that's making the current changes. Sorry about that.

Well, your general conclusion about some of the changes being unpopular may still be correct, regardless of ownership.
 
Eden Beach/Spice Beach and Bonaire are all very smart to invest in the restructuring especially with all the cruisers wanting a "nice" pretty beach to enjoy the most beautiful water in the world! I hope they leave the rubble from the restaurant it just gives the place flair.:blinking:
Does anyone have the overall approved plan for the vendors and anything else. I hope the venders are placed near the main road as well as parking as some have already said. I hope they are quality vendors and limited. We shall see - out of my control :):diver:
