Bring back the Reputation Points...?

I thought they were fun. Maybe there was too much going on to deal with them at the time, but how about now...?

I'd suggest voting be allowed only by those who have allowed voting on them for a full month. With that:
(a) No voting will happen for a month, while we get used to the idea;
(b) No voting will happen with new members for their first month; and
(c) Those who want to vote badly on others but not allow voting on themselves will be blocked.

Could we try this again...?

Even though the "points" were before my time on SB I can feel that it only served desperate egos (needing to be stroked).....besides who cares?
My license plate holder states" My Australian Shepherds are smarter than your Honor Student." Don't think that doesn't get arise from the "school" bumper sticker crowd.

The points only encourage people to post popular opinions, and post them frequently to drive up their ranking. Same thing as on slashdot, and it's called karma whoring.

Do you actually have an Australian Shepherd? We have two and they don't strike me as incredibly smart. I've heard from several people that have them that they are a really smart breed. Maybe ours were rejects.
