Greetings! This is my first post to the scubaboard, even though I have been reading it on occasion for a couple of years. I've been diving for several years and am full trimix certified. My passion is diving the deeper wrecks of the Great Lakes, which requires a good canister light. I have a Halcyon 18w HID that is about 5 years old. I had the misfortune to drop the light last fall, which necessitated me having to replace the expensive and fragile HID bulb at a cost of over $225.00. I've been hearing that it is possible to convert the light over to use the Brightstar HID but have been unable to find out what all is involved and how much the cost. If anyone is familiar with this process, I sure would appreciate a heads up. Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided! Scubydoo

Carl at Sartek did the conversions on both of mine for $125 each, and $10 OVERNIGHT freight back to me. Amazing deal. I took them lobstering through the shore for the last half of the season (read: abused them) and they've been perfect.

Very glad I got the work done.
