My wife and I have stayed @ Breezes Curacao each year for the last 4 years and are planning to go there again next August. Honestly we have not had any problems and have gotten to where some of the regular employees remember us. (Norma, Natalia, Andrea, etc.). It is scary when you read Tripadvisor, it seems for every good reveiw there is atleast a horrible one. I am not sure if it is some people are really hard to please or we have been very lucky. Remember that "island time" does apply and people do things alittle slower than we are used to. But, thats not always a bad thing on vacation. (we found Bonaire to be even slower). We dive with an op just outside of Breezes called The Dive Bus www.the-dive-bus.com
They are brilliant people, offer a great service, and are just plain fun.
Some observations on Breezes
*We get an oceanfront room, they seem to not have the problems that others have
complained about in the oceanview rooms. It is worth the little extra cost.
*If looking for a 5 star resort, this is not it. But it is a great place to stay with or
without children. Snorkling great, diving better! Lots of things to do
*We find Breezes easy, no need to carry money, local transportation to town ($1
accrossed street), walk to seaquarium.
* We always go during their slow time (we go mid August). This might make some
difference since we don't have the crowds or crowd related problems that others
on Tripadvisor have complained about
*We have noticed alot of grounds improvements over the last 4 years.

As long as you are certified, you get one free dive a day @ Breezes house reef any other dive you must pay for. Includes air & equipment. They will give non-divers a free discovery dive. Short swim to reef from Breezes dock. Good reef starts at about 15ft and goes down to about 90ft. Lots of fish, seen parrotfish, trunkfish, barracuda, spotted drums, reef squid, many morays. They were seeing a seahorse but we couldn't find it. Just west of enrty point is "the carpile". It starts @ about 90ft. There are many old cars, truck parts and an old barge sunk there. Saw a good turtle on our last trip there, though we have seen turtles at less depths on this reef. If you walk to the Dive Bus hut (just before Breezes near Surf & Turf Resturant), you can dive the same reef but from the other end. This would be an actual shore dive with easy entry and the reef is a little nicer on this end. We did get to see an octopus at this end. If you go here must stop and talk to Suzy, Mark and Holly at the hut. They will be very helpful whether you dive with them or not.
At Breezes, the beach and swim area has a protective breakwater. good snorkeling near this breakwater on the inside, many smaller reef fish, some larger parrotfish, and many squid. But the best snorkeling is just outside of this breakwater. There you are above the reef and can see all that divers can see. The shore dive leaves from the dock daily so would begin at the same location, but they may go a different direction when outside the dock area. You can rent a tank from them, if you have your own gear, and dive on your own. I suggest going with the dive guide the first time to learn the layout of the area. The car pile is swimable and a great dive. A trick is to tip the safety boat driver to give you a ride to the top of the car pile, which is a deep dive, and then swim back afterwords allowing for a safety stop. We just got back from Breezes, it's pretty nice, you don't have to carry money, and the food is not bad.... make sure you ask for alcohol in your drinks.... or else you'll be drinking virgins. My buddy and I also got a round of golf in and that was pretty terrific too. Make sure you do the Dolphin encounter at the sea aquarium.... something you won't soon forget.

Also, you can get to the carpile from Breezes but your better off getting tanks at the DiveBus $10 and they are very cool.
