answered my own question, it looks like Meeks is the closest launch.
isn't there a buoy at the barges in emerald bay? on the left side when you enter the bay? 1/2 way in???

Yes I think Meeks is closest to Emerald Bay, but the run across the lake isn't too bad. we went from Kings beach to Meeks last year, then ran to Emerald bay. But then again we like playing with the boat.

Your right about the bouy. the Barges are in about 25 feet of water on the left side of the bay.

oh- and where is the "sailboat"?

The sailboat is north of Meeks, I dont exactly know the name of the town I think its homewood. but its sunk in the boat harbor. Its one of those dives I can recognize when I go there but don't know the actual name of the town.

Edit: My buddy told me its in Huricane Bay south of Homewood.

There is also a sunken speedboat at DL Bliss, just at the corner going towards Rubicon Wall. about 80 feet deep.

By the way, if your staying up north, then try Stateline, right behind the Cal Neva casino. the dive starts out pretty shallow, then when you get to the wall it drops down to no bottom deep! Lots of large boulders there, and its not as steep as Rubicon, so you have an opportunity to get your bouyancy dialed in before going over the wall.

Diving Tahoe is great fun when Monterey is blown out and crappy viz. Mark and I had an awesome time with Ron and the Gang last summer. I would love to get in the water this weekend, but am probably going to hold off.
