I have a 2007 Atomic B2 yoke reg and i'm looking to convert it to din. Does anyone have a good break down of the pro's and cons to do doing the brass vs stainless on my particular first stage. I do both fresh water and salt water diving on a regular basis.

I agree with Fishpie if you are permanently attaching it, due to a process known as galvanic corrosion, dissimilar metals tend to break down when in contact for extended periods of time in the presence of an electrical current (such as the ocean).

On the other hand, if you are talking about a simple DIN/Yoke screw-on adapter, then by all means go with the standard chrome-plated brass; there is hardly justification for the more expensive machined stainless steel version. You should be able to find a converter for around $30.

Thats the problem. My 1st stage is made of both brass and stainless steel if you look at the specs of the Atomic B2. Atomic makes both options and said either one is warranty'd for life.

I think I got a happy answer and justification form Atomic. They told me I could go either way. The stainless of course was much more resilient to corrosion then the brass but the bulk of my first stage is brass so it wont really be that much better off using it. If i were to factory order a brand new first stage it would have came with a brass Din first stage not a stainless one. They offer the option of either one during the conversion. After talking with them I'm going to go with the Brass one from my LDS. Thanks for chiming in folks.
